Long Standing Volunteer Commemorated with Award
A dedicated volunteer has been recognised for their outstanding commitment and service to the community with a Commitment and Service Award.
The award was presented in recognition of Spencer’s 10 years of voluntary service for the OPCC’s Quality Assurance Panel (QAP), during which Spencer has made a significant contribution through continuous dedication and professionalism.
Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn said:
“Today was a real pleasure to recognise the outstanding contribution of Spencer. His 10 years of service to the Quality Assurance Panel is truly inspiring and a testament to the lasting impact volunteers can make. Your contributions have been, and will continue to be, greatly appreciated by myself and Dyfed-Powys Police. It has been a pleasure working with you for all the years.”
The Panel scrutinise areas of Police contact with the public, for example, complaint cases, Stop and Search cases and police handling of calls in to the Force’s Communication Centre i.e. 101 and 999 calls. Issues raised by volunteers are considered by the relevant Department leads and updates are provided to me. Improvements are made to business practices and customer service as required.
Spencer said:
“Looking back I have really enjoyed my time with the QAP. It was fascinating to be in at the start and then to be able to play a part in its development, watching the demand for our panel’s services grow as the Force increasingly recognised the value of our independent scrutiny work. It is also satisfying to see that other forces are now taking an interest in our approach.”
