With the busy festive season upon us, Police and Crime Commissioner, Dafydd Llywelyn is urging people to treat shop workers with kindness and respect as he pledges his support for the 'Respect for Shop Workers' campaign.

As part of his commitment to tackling retail crime and supporting local businesses, Commissioner Llywelyn will be visiting some shops across the region to meet with retail staff, hear their experiences, and discuss measures to address incidents of abuse and violence.

Commissioner Llywelyn said: "Retail staff play a vital role in our communities, often working tirelessly to serve us. They deserve to feel safe and respected at work. Abuse, threats, and violence towards shop workers are completely unacceptable, and I stand firmly with this campaign to promote respect and support for those in the retail sector.

During my visits to local shops in the Ceredigion area, I’ll be listening to the concerns of staff and looking at how we can work together with businesses, police, and partner organisations to ensure that retail crime is tackled effectively and that staff feel supported.”

The Commissioner is encouraging everyone to play their part by treating shop workers with kindness and respect, especially during the busy festive period.
